(More customer reviews)I was seriously impressed with the recipes in this cookbook. The meals are indeed cheap and contain regular, everyday ingredients most of us have in our cupboards already. I love how the catagories were separated so that if you wanted a slow-cooker meal you could go right to that section. I also love the section entitled "Budget-friendly Gatherings"- meals for many without breaking open the piggy bank. There's a section entitled "Penny-pinching Pantry Staples" that includes recipes for making your own homemade sauces, spice mixes, breads, jams and more. Many of the recipes have 5 to 8 ingredients at the most. I have made quite a few recipes from the book including the Curly Noodles Supper, Hamburger Cream Gravy and Creamy Macaroni & Beef. Each recipe I have made has cost under $5 and fed my family of 5 plus leftovers and has been two thumbs up, yummy-delicious. For those that like to cook on the cheap without skimping on the flavor, this is definitely a cookbook that should be on your kitchen shelf.
